Purple Palate

With the Hounds, Allan Scott aims to bring a more Burgundian edge to thier typically style of lush, smoky, sour fruited Pinot. The French oak here is more structurally definitive, and the palate has an aspect of savory meatiness and a firmer nerve of acid, subtleties often overlooked in the multi-vineyard version. Added complexity also comes in the form of fragrant elements of dry cocoa, brooding cherry skin and a lingering, leather-edged finish. A nuanced, detailed expression of a special vineyard. -NT
