Allan Scott Marlborough Pinot Noir 2008

  • Region Marlborough, NZ
  • Type Red
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 13%
The zippy acidity of this region is on show here, but dark and interesting flavours lurk underneath. Black cherries, pepper and cinnamon all covered by a blanket of forest floor leaves. Sour plums entwine with the other flavours, skin and all. The finish is extremely complex, offerring bitter rhubarb and delicious lick of of burnt dark chocolate. It screams out for a mushroom sauce or dish of some kind. -JP

 says:

Red cherry, plum and mixed spice flavours supported by fine, slightly stemmy tannins. An elegant Pinot Noir that has a structure reminiscent of young burgundy. It offers good value at this price.
