Winemaker Richard Bate had a desire to push the boundaries with Sauvignon Blanc. He has created an extraordinary wine – overt, oxidatively handled, and full of complexity. It evolves into a blend of rich apricot nectar and sexy French oak on the nose. It then slides down on to the palate with a creamy texture, yet with a great acid backbone, providing a very clean finish indeed. Only 350 cases produced. -DD
