Atlas Barossa Shiraz 2008

  • Region Barossa Valley, SA
  • Type Red
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 14.5%
Another ripper of wine from Atlas, this time made from grapes hand-picked off of 50 year old vines in the Ebenezer sub-region of the Barossa. It is basket pressed and matured in fine-grain French Oak. There's already a lot of pleasure to be had here, but the wine will only get better if you lay some down. -JP

Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
 says:

Hazelnut, chocolate, some mint, dark cherries, boysenberry and fine spicy oak. It’s medium to full bodied, supple, spicy and juicy - nutty, flavoursome and lovely to drink. Sort of like a Hewitson Ned and Henry’s, which means emphatic approval on the style front. Could drink plenty of this. Beautifully made.
