Purple Palate

Here we have the "Great Australian Red" blend of Shiraz and Cabernet. It's a very elegant expression of such a wine, much more about subtlety and finesse than ripe fruit flavour. As such I might have guessed the Cabernet Sauvignon component to be higher than the Shiraz, but this isn't actually the case. The wine is at its best with food and is in its drinking window now. - JP
