Purple Palate

I like Shiraz because I dislike herby weak Cabernet that can be so leafy. I loved this wine – I mean, this just blew me away, the likes of which I haven't seen this year. My tasting note started off as ‘quite Royal’. I’m thinking silky, velvety, but with greater depth. Its vibrant, minty nose leaps from the glass and pecks your cheek, while at the same time reaching right around and smacking you on the backside! A cheeky wine – what a great surprise. Subtle tannins, but making a lot of noise. Definitely one to watch – I’m onto it. - DD
