Coldstream Hills Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2008

  • Region Yarra Valley, Vic
  • Type Red
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 14%
Delightful fresh and ripe raspberry colour, this wine is vibrant and youthful and shows warm fruit, hints of spice, leather, stewed plum and cherry on the nose. It exhibits light leathery tannins and a medium fruit weight that includes shadows of bright red apples. It's ripe with a pleasant sweetness that isn't overpowering. It's hard to find decent Pinot's and this one is surprisingly so - it's easy to drink with an elegant texture and great balance. Voted a unanimously good wine. I'd buy a bottle or two if I came across it again - actually, maybe even a cheeky six! I think they're stocking it at Purple Palate... - EN

James Halliday
 says:

A lively and pristine bouquet, relying more on red fruit purity than depth and complexity; the palate provides a seamless transition from primary red fruit on entry, to a silky and quite seductive conclusion of Asian all-spice and fine-grained tannin; surprisingly long on the finish.
