Purple Palate

Franz's wines each share a common trait - an almost savoury rancio character. Divine. Initially big, dusty orchard fruits including plums, raspberries and blackcurrants fill the nose. Well lifted red licorice notes intermingle with coconut scents. Savoury, mentha of black pepper opens the palate for the final caramel and toasted-oak flavours that linger for what seems a millennia. While it lacks slightly in structure, this wine makes up for it with the enormity of fruit flavour and length. A good representation of Barossan style Cabernet, this is a wine to be enjoyed now. - DJ
