DiGiorgio Family Wines Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

  • Region Coonawarra, SA
  • Type Red
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 14.5%
This is classic Coonawarra Cabernet from a very good vintage – plenty of blueberries, olives and gum leaf on the nose and palate, leading to a persistent finish. The DiGiorgio family acquired the second oldest vineyard in Coonawarra in 2002, which had been known since the 1950s as Rouge Homme. This wine is crafted from old-vine fruit from this vineyard so it’s no surprise that it almost feels like Coonawarra’s terra rossa is spilling from the glass. -JL

James Halliday
 says:

Rich and essency bouquet of cassis and mint; pushing the envelope of ripeness with a slight confiture aspect to the fruit; the tannin/acid balance pulls the fruit somewhat back into line, to leave a long and savoury finish. ProCork.
