Laughing Jack Greenock Shiraz 2007
- Region Barossa Valley, SA
- Type Red
- Size 750ml
- Alcohol 14.5%
The talented Shawn Kalleske, along with his partner in crime Mick Schroeter have crafted another pearler from the Greenock sub-region of the Barossa. It's generous with plenty of sweet rich flavour but it avoids being over the top. Plum, red and black berries feature prominently along with some eucalypt from the majestic Gum trees surrrounding the vineyard. Good acidity and nice, chalky, drying tannin fans out in the mouth. Blue fruits join in on the mid-palate before coffeed oak, cloves and spice carry the a finish with plenty of length. Give it a good decant to fully enjoy its pleasures. -JP

James Halliday, the Wine Companion
says:Deep crimson-purple; an unashamedly full-bodied wine, with black fruits (blackberry, plum, prune) surrounded by firm tannins and some savoury characters; needs considerable patience, but will repay it.
