Purple Palate

Only 16 barrels of this plush, decadent wine are produced each year. It's enables the sort of attention to detail we really like to see in the wines we stock. This vintage is chock full of dense blood plums, prunes and blackcurrants. Toasty oak has been excellently applied, adding mocha, spice and hints of coal. Super fine tannins extend the finish even further. What to serve with it? Well, vineyard owner John Lienert recommends roast beef or smoked pork loin cutlets with cucumber salad a la Barossa, but I think your favourite cut of meat and root vegies would be fine too. -JP
