Massena Barbera 2009
- Region Barossa Valley, SA
- Type White
- Size 750ml
- Alcohol 14%
I first saw the 2008 vintage of this wine and it blew my mind. Massena have done it again, this time adding some richness to the palate while maintaining the awesome dry minerality and tannin profile that creates the dichotomy between sweet opulent fruit on the nose and the long savoury palate. This is not a wine for the cellar; it is a brilliant wine right now and should be savoured for its unique characters and awesome fruit quality. - SG

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh, The Big Red Wine Book
says:This tastes of Barossa before it tastes of barbera, and in the spirit of regionalism, we guess that's not a bad thing. It tastes sweet, almost honeyed, with raspberry and burnt sugar flavours - and lots of acidity. It's fresh, that's for sure. And rich. And juicy. You'd have to try hard not to have fun with this.
