Purple Palate

When I read the phrase "this is our flagship wine" I can't help but expect big things. Happily, the Catharina Shiraz met my expectations with fervour: strong, lasting fruit flavours; ripe and supple tannins; savoury leathery aromas and a round finish that wasn't too sharp despite its youthful age. I spied a hint of coconut on the finish. An exceptional wine that will reward cellaring for another 5-10 years. Fantastic labelling - a handsome bottle that would make a good gift. - DJ
