Stella Bella Chardonnay 2008
- Region Margaret River, WA
- Type White
- Size 750ml
- Alcohol 13%
What a great wine. Stella Bella Wines applied traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, including the use of fine grain French oak to create a rich and fulfilling wine. A vibrant green-gold colour, this is a very Australian wine indeed! Completely unlike big old austere Chardonnay from the 1970's, this modern wine smells delicately of fragrant citrus, pear and nutmeg aromas. The flavours I liked most were citrus, peach, honeydew, air-dried pear. The wine has a really tasty creaminess and I really enjoyed drinking this before dinner on a warm evening.

says:
Vivid green-gold; a masterful exercise in winemaking, with intense citrus and stone fruit flavours driving through the length of the palate, oak made largely redundant, the finish as fresh as a spring day.

Pale lemon straw colour with green glints. A lovely floral note, camomile and asian pear, followed by pink
grapefruit and preserved lemon aromas. The mouthfeel is wonderful, superb vinosity, bright acidity and magnificent lemon, grilled nut and
nectarine flavours with a mineral edge. The oak underpins without overt intrusion. A beautiful wine,
superbly made with a long fine, satiny finish.
