Purple Palate

From the son of Robert O’Callaghan, the Barossa legend behind cult winery Rockford, comes this unique self titled offering. Travis Earth O’Callaghan has very strong connections in the Barossa, and has been able to source old vine Mataro (75%) and Shiraz (25%) and create a very small parcel of seriously good wine as a result. The richness of the Mataro, with its coffee, mocha characters stand well against the solid and structured backbone of the ripe, peppery Shiraz. It’s not fat, nor lean, but extremely flavorsome and complex. The nose evolves in the glass from the purity of fruit, to a powdered chocolate feast, with the finish lingering.
