Described by James Halliday as a “show-stopper” of a wine back in 1996, the pure class of this wine hasn’t faded over the ensuring years. Experiencing it now, one finds lovely cherries, plums and mint on the nose. The once massive palate has softened to be almost delicate, creating a sense of lightness in the mouth – and certainty in the mind that this wine is utterly incapable of causing a hang-over. says:Medium to full red-purple; a show-stopper of a wine, or as Robert Parker might put it, a gob-stopper. The bouquet is potent, with slightly resinous oak; the palate is massive and powerful, needing much time, with an extraordinary array of minty/cherry fruit and oak and fruit tannins all intermingling.
