The Hedonist Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Image 1

Varietal: Cabernet   Region: McLaren Vale  Size: 750mL  Alc: 14%

The fruit for the Hedonist Cabernet is grown biodynamically in the Willunga foothills, McLaren Vale. The bouquet consists of mixed red berries, black cherry, earthy, hint of dark chocolate with oak adding hints of toffee. It's got an intense velvety palate of red berries with perfectly integrated layers of oak and spice. An elegant and beautifully balanced wine with a lovely tannin structure to carry the long lingering finish.

Suggested serving

Roasted Lamb with golden mash

With a roasted lamb dish, you're after a savoury wine which will strip the palate clean of the oils in the lamb juices. Cabernet is one of the best savoury wines. The Hedonist Cabernet gives a lovely smooth and rich taste which allows you to enjoy every mouthful like it was the first. Nigella Lawson has a great recipe for double mashed potatoes – white potato and roasted sweet potatoes. Finish the meal with cherries or a square (or two) of dark chocolate to pick up the flavours in the wine.
