Dowie Doole Estate Shiraz

  • Image 1

Varietal: Shiraz   Region: McLaren Vale  Size: 750mL  Alc: 14.5%

Shiraz and McLaren Vale are synonymous, the region’s climate and soils naturally enabling rich, flavoursome expressions of this classic variety.

Fruit, sourced exclusively from our three estate vineyards, is used to produce the Dowie Doole Shiraz. Special sites in their own right, each vineyard contributes unique characters to the finished wine, from lifted spice to supple dark fruits and fine, toothsome tannins that suggest a long life in bottle.

Matured for 18 months in 50% French oak & 50% American oak hogsheads, with 30% being new.

Colour

Rich dark crimson with a bright crimson hue.

Nose

Unmistakable McLaren Vale Shiraz bouquet: sweet plums, dark cherries, cloves,

spices, with subtle French oak notes showing through.

Palate

The palate is rich and full with layers of dark fruits, vanilla, chocolate-mocha

licorice and plums and has a fine tannin structure. The 18 months of combination

oak has further added spice and complexity.

Food Match

The traditional French dish from Burgundy, Beef Bourguignon, is perfect for this sumptuous wine.
